State Soiree revives the memories that shaped the State Theatre as a monument of World Class Heritage, reflecting New World Group’s mission to transform the theatre into a heritage destination resonating with the contemporary cultural scene.

Returning to the State Theatre’s origins — first opened in 1952 as the Empire Theatre in the glamorous entertainment hub of North Point’s “Little Shanghai” — “State Soirée” pays homage to the theatre’s night club, Empire Restaurant, where literati and artists gathered to enjoy live songs performed by Chinese divas.

Upon arriving at “State Soirée”, guests are led to a lavish theatre dressing room inspired by the State Theatre’s glory days, adorned with vintage dressing tables, phonograph records, and even a weighing scale once ubiquitous to cinema halls. Enriching the immersive theatre dinner experiences bringing guests back to the glamour of 1950s North Point.
